Service Area

Plymouth is a dock door market

Around fifty three thousand people work in the city, most of them in low rise buildings along two highways, in a market where the loading side is bigger than the lobby.

The market

More back doors than front doors.

Roughly fifty three thousand people work at Plymouth businesses, and the commercial and industrial base is large enough that it keeps the city's tax rate among the lowest in the area. The industrial spine runs along Highway 55 and out to I-494: the Plymouth Business Park southwest of that interchange, the Industrial Park Boulevard buildings, the Vicksburg Business Center near Highway 55 and Vicksburg Lane, and newer speculative product such as the Plymouth Point Business Center. Jet 55 Corporate Center on Highway 55 sits in the same corridor on the office side.

The stock is overwhelmingly one and two story, which changes the arithmetic of covering it. A city of towers concentrates risk vertically and a single lobby post sees most of it. Here the same square footage is spread across dozens of buildings with individual truck courts, and a property under one manager can have twenty exterior doors and no interior circulation between them at all.

Healthcare is the second major property type. The WestHealth campus is a Class A outpatient medical complex of roughly two hundred thousand square feet anchored by Allina Health, and Smiths Medical moved its headquarters into the city, bringing several hundred jobs with it. That gives Plymouth a medical and medtech property profile alongside the warehousing, in the same corridors.

What the property mix asks for

Coverage here is measured in ground, not floors.

When a property is horizontal, the honest question about any shift is not whether a guard was on site. It is how much of the site they actually reached. A single guard covering a business park is covering acres of asphalt, a dozen truck courts, and a set of yards, and the difference between a thorough round and a short one is invisible from the parking lot the next morning.

That is why the checkpoint pattern matters more here than almost anywhere. A scan at each building's dock face and each yard gate, timestamped, turns coverage into something with a shape. Outpatient medical on the same manager's list needs the opposite emphasis: an open public entrance during clinic hours, controlled areas behind it, and staff walking to a surface lot after dark. Both are answerable, but only with a record.

Sightline

Sightline by Vantaris is the client dashboard included with every contract. Guard position is captured at clock in and at each checkpoint scan, so a completed tour is a set of verified points in time rather than an assurance. Incident reports are written the same shift with photos and a resolution status, alongside shift records and monthly reporting.
